The "Kylie Jenner" lipsticks - MAC Cosmetics haul

Kylie's lips - did she have fillers? Was it lipliner? Do you care? How can I get mine like that? Is it expensive? TELL ME UR SECRETS. I WANT TO KNOW.

After scouring the internet watching youtube videos, buying dupes of products and trying to line my lips without looking like a hoodrat I eventually caved like any #commonwhitegirl and splurged on the same lip products as Kylie Jenner.
They seem to be these ones - lipliners in Soar and Whirl and lipsticks in Velvet Teddy and Snob, all by MAC Cosmetics.

The swatches below highlight just how different Velvet Teddy and Snob are. Velvet Teddy is a beautiful nudey brown but Snob is a muted pink colour.
With the liners, there isn't much of a difference at first between Soar and Whirl but upon closer inspection, Whirl is much more brown whereas Soar has a reddish hint to it.

My ultimate favourite combination is Soar and Snob, using Soar to liner further in my lips and then blending Snob out all the way to the edge.

Answering one of my first, desperate questions.. is it expensive? Sort of. I spent about £57 on all four products which is a little steep but I do think it is worth it, especially for the longevity of the liners.
They can all be purchased here (!) from the MAC website. PLEASE be careful if you are choosing to buy from other stockists; there are some v. dodgy fakes out there.

Do you have any of these lipsticks? Or, have you found a worthy dupe? Let me know in the comments!

Mac blusher review

I did one of these a couple of months ago (click here to read) and had such a good response so I thought it was about time for another!

Firstly something I stumbled upon before Christmas - the I Love.... Strawberries and Cream body spray (click here to read original post). This still sits on my dressing table and has been chucked into numerous overnight bags. It's easy to transport as it's a plastic bottle and it's super inexpensive

Secondly the Marilyn Monroe x Mac blusher is still in use in my make-up collection. I try to use it sparingly but it's one of my favourite blushes (click here to read original post).

Finally, the heaven sent Bioderma cleansing water (click here to read original post). I use this every single day before using my Clarisonic. It's pretty much idiot proof which is perfect if I'm stumbling to bed in the early hours. I still try to wash my face after using it and before applying my moisturiser but I know a lot of people use it alone without rinsing off after. I've featured it in a number of posts since first using it and I plan to use it foreverrrrr!

MAC - Mineralize Skin Finish in Adored

MAC's Mineralize Skin Finish products seem to be everyone's fail safe highlighter in the last couple of years. I absolutely love my Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette for contouring and highlighting but this MAC highlighter is beautiful both in the pan and on the skin for a peachy glow. A mix of pearly pink and iridescent peach "Adored" is a shade I can't help but use this on an almost daily basis!
It doesn't quite look like a natural flush when it's applied but it gives a little more dimension to my cheekbones and doesn't necessarily need any blusher blended along with it.

I've had this since mid-July and I've yet to hit the pan, although I've heard that these products look like they last for months and then BAM you've hit pan and it's the worst day of your life without even a hint of preparation. Le sigh! That aside I'll be using this product over and over until it reaches its demise and then I'll be buying another one or two or three in a variety of shades to keep my skin shimmering!

You can buy this shade and a number of others here (click!) for an RRP of £22.00

Marilyn Monroe x Mac Blush in Legendary

After convincing myself I didn't need anything from the Marilyn Monroe collection that was launched late last year I accidentally found myself buying this baby in Macy's in the Mall at Millenia in Orlando. I could have screamed I was so excited because I thought I'd missed my chance when it sold out in the UK, but I managed to save it a whole week before using it in order to take the perfect product photos.

I'm not sure how well these photos show the colour pay-off because I've looked at them a lot and been wearing the blusher all day so I'm used to it but I think it's pretty accurate (I have been known to be wrong before... like maybe once...in my science GCSE.......).

The packaging is amazing, it's beautifully shiny with a black and white photo of Marilyn Monroe on the lid of the pot with her signature and the MAC logo in a vibrant red. The blush itself is a coral tone with a light shimmer. I found I needed to coat my brush quite heavily but actually brush it on quite lightly on the apples of my cheeks with a light swipe going slightly further up towards my temples. This won't work for everyone and I know some people are dead set against applying blusher anywhere but directly on the apples of their cheeks but THAT'S OKAY. I'm only wearing foundation and this blush in the above photos meaning I hadn't contoured my cheekbones so allowing my blusher to be visible towards my temples gives my face a little more definition.

I think I paid around $20-25 for 0.21oz of this product - it isn't cheap but I think it's worth its price tag. Unfortunately this shade is NOT available outside of this collection which I am completely gutted about. There's not even a slightly similar shade as far as I know but I'm crossing my everything for something like this in another collection.

Do you have any of the other items from this collection? Link me your reviews because there was a highlighting powder I wanted but it was out of stock, dire!
