Ted Baker - S/S 14 Footwear

Contrary to what the weather may have us believing, Spring isn't actually that far away. Although I can't quite see myself skipping through fields of daisies barefoot with a flower crown just yet I can certainly see myself expanding my footwear collection with the help of Ted Baker's upcoming releases.

Already unveiled in their mini catalogue there are of course florals, pastels and prints to feast your eyes on. The footwear collection compliments the S/S clothing line perfectly, there's a whole host of pastels and brights to finally bring some life into wardrobes around the globe. Thank G O D! I love me some black but it's getting repetitive...

My favourites from the S/S footwear releases are the Jemmee jelly shoes - there's a whole bunch of colours including an embellished nude and a pastel green. I'd love to pair these with either some plain, black jeans or a skater skirt (once I've given my pasty white legs a bit of a tan....).

For a Spring wedding there are some gorgeous printed heels, particularly the Luceey pairs. They come in a contrasting white and blue print which would stand out amongst everyone else's plain pumps.

Finally, as I have Bestival on the brain I've got my eye on the wellies. I LOVE them! Perfect for keeping some elements of festival going chic, even if my hair might be looking questionable by day 3!

What do you think? I'm crossing everything that I can pick up a pair when the brighter months roll around!

LOVE - Princes Trust Charity Football Match

At the end of the month Love Clothing are partnering with The Princes' Trust and holding a charity football match. It will see the Arsenal Legends team take on a team of celebrities, including Calum Best (whadupppp!) and Kye Sones from last year's X Factor as well as Laurie Duncan who plays Callum in Hollyoaks. The match will be followed by a VIP event - something which would certainly justify buying a new outfit if you ask me....

For my entry for this competition I have made a collage of two outfits, one a girly twist on football attire (not that I can or will play football) and the second is to take it straight to the evening with the option of two playsuits from inlovewithfashion.com (black found here (click!) and the red here (click!) ) neither of which will break the bank since I'm certainly not a celebrity but both will look classy (whilst the red will be inkeeping with the Arsenal colours!!) with a pop of your favourite ruby red lipstick!

To find out more about this event click this link here (!!!) and have a little perv on the famous faces on the celebrity team!

Victoria's Secret PINK bralets

(img from VOGUE Italy here (click!) )

Once hitting the pavements of Oxford Street I couldn't stop my feet from heading towards Victoria's Secret. I usually struggle to buy their lingerie when I'm in the states because I can't figure out the damn sizes on the labels so I just pass it up and buy 1284328479 pairs of cheeksters - but thankfully the UK stores have UK sizing, hurrah!

I love the Victoria's Secret underwear collections but there's something about their PINK range that does it for me - it's fun and flirty and it's not just limited to underwear. In my wardrobe I have built a nice little collection of lounge pants, oversized jumpers and of course their drinks flasks make any workout cute, which is obviously the reason to work out duhhhhhh.

I picked up these two beauties yesterday and I'm already absolutely in love with them. The purple and pink racerback bralet is so comfy it is hard to believe it has a practical use! I couldn't resist it because I knew it would look nice under pyjamas in the evening when let's be real - no-one wants to wear a bra. It's nice to have a little air (not hair!) in the breasticle area once in a while. Unfortunately the straps on this aren't adjustable which is a bit of a pain for me - I've been blessed with breast but I've got a narrow build so the straps are a bit too long! Nevertheless I love it and it really is perfect for lazy days or nighttime.

I paid around £22 for this but you can see the other available colours here (click!!) but it is the American website.

The layered lace bandeau is so pretty and it's a bit of a statement piece on its own. I'd wear this over a bra but underneath a top with wide sleeves or under some sort of sheer top for a pop of colour. again I paid around £22 for this and you can view it online here (click!!).

Neither of these pieces are wired which does mean they're slightly more comfortable than a regular bra but the bandeau has some support at the sides. Both of these are incredibly stretchy as they're made of nylon & spandex. They don't have clasps or fastenings so they're super easy to pull on in a hurry and I really can't emphasise enough how bloody comfortable they are!

What's your favourite piece by Victoria's Secret / PINK? Let me know in the comments below!

Another ASOS Skater dress!

After last week's beautiful floral ASOS skater dress I might've gone a little bit mad and bought another 4 on the same day. By might've gone mental I mean I did go mental and it was great!

This dress is Aztec/Tribal print and it's made of the same stretch jersey cotton-y fabric. The colours are lovely - purple, pink, blue and yellow contrast with the black and white detailing. It has a slightly cinched waist which is very flattering. There is a slight question of which way round this dress should be worn..... it is identical at the front and back (whichever way you look at it!) but the label is at the side of the wider, more open neckline which lead me to believe that was actually the back as you can see from the way I am wearing it but the model online wears it the other way round... It is a little bit confusing but I think either way is nice.

I'm wearing it with my H&M peep-toe court shoes which are incredibly comfortable but it would look cute with some black Mary-Janes, ankle boots or even Vans if you fancied dressing down!

You can buy the dress here (click!) from ASOS.com

summer's in the air and baby heaven's in your eyes

Jacket : Forever21 T-shirt : Forever21 Jeans : Topshop Leigh (again!) Bag : Mulberry Del Rey Shoes (not pictured) : Miss Selfridge.

I absolutely love this outfit, now I'm a little blonder I feel like I can wear pastel colours without being washed out, finally! This jacket is my absolute new favourite wardrobe item because it's studded and it goes so well with everything I own (...mainly because I own a lot of black!). Unfortunately I bought it in Florida and I can't find it online but there is something similar here (click!).

I was going to take a photo of the back of the t-shirt as it has a completely lace back but I couldn't get a nice one and now it's sold out online, tragic!

Forever21 is easily one of my favourite high street stores to shop in when I'm in the UK and in the US because nothing is extortionately priced nor is to too cheap to look nice.

Anyway, I wore this out for dinner with one of my best friends last week but it could easily be worn over a skater dress with heels or in place of a blazer at a Summer or garden party. I find a nice jacket is a perfect accessory when completed with a cold glass of Pimms!

Disney inspired outfit #2 - Someday my prince will come....

Okay, so Princess Aurora is easily one of the most beautiful princesses (hint : Sleeping BEAUTY) and after a little request from my bestest pal Pip (her blog link is here click click click) I thought Aurora was perfect for this week's Disney inspired because she wears two signature outfits in the film.. or three if you count the blue dress (but I don't!) I haven't copied the Disney dress because as I've said this is inspired by the Disney character rather than an exact copy.

Anyway : firstly the Princess Aurora side of the set -
Rose bracelet is Tiffany & Co. It's not online anymore but it is so perfect for this outfit I couldn't resist it. The pink halter neck is by Unique at Topshop here (click!) and the skater dress is by Boohoo here (click!). I chose two pairs of shoes for these dresses because..well there's no such thing as too many pairs of shoes but also the pink wedges are a little extreme so they might not appeal to everyone.  The pink wedges are, of course, Giuseppe Zanotti and can be found on net-a-porter here (click!) and the nude heels are by Miss Selfridge here (click!). The infinity necklace is Tiffany & Co. and can be found here (click!). The envelope clutch is from Accessorize here, (click!) and I love the colour contrast between the pinky/lilac front and the cream sides.

And now the Briar-Rose side of the set -
The sleeveless white peplum blouse is by Gant here (click!) and the black bralet is on the Rare website here (click!). The grey dipped hem skirt is by Selected here (click!) and the cut-out ballet flats are from Topshop here (click!). After recently throwing away my Topshop Vectras I think these are a lovely, summery replacement! The plain bead rope necklace is by Miss Selfridge and is on the website here (click!) and the bucket bag is by Fiorelli and can be found online at the Debenhams website here (click!).

Finally the two beauty products are by Benefit. Posie tint is a lovely lip and cheek tint in a rosy pink shade and Dandelion is a very light pink blusher with tiny shimmer particles in. Both can be found here (click!) and here (click!).

So, that's how to express your inner Princess Aurora without having to fight with a five year old in the Disney store! Let me know if you buy any of these or have them.. I absolutely love the pink skater dress!

Summer Wishlist #1

So, we get about 3.456 nanoseconds of sun and every blogger and their mum is making a summer wishlist set, which is absolutely fine by me! I'm always wanting more to add to my wardrobe / nail polish / jewellery collection and these are my current wants needs!

L- R (sort of...)
Rings: Batya Kebudi rose gold heart ring here (click!) and Ariane Arazi gold plated crown ring here (click!). Pink Cambridge Satchel here (click!). Denim shirt here (click!). Floral jeans here (click!). Mulberry bracelet here (click!). Essie Madison Ave-hue here (click!) and Lapiz of Luxury here (click!). Burt's Bees Grapefruit lip balm here (click!). Zara platform black heels here (click!) and wooden sandals here (click!).

So. I'm choosing not to total what all of this would be to buy but I might stagger these purchases over the next few months.... starting with those floral jeans!

Jack Wills Fernham Jeans

Jack Wills clothing is not to everybody's taste. I often stand in my local store lusting over their knitwear but due to my body shape (a.k.a. my boobs!) I tend to look like a complete pleb in any of their jumpers. It is for that reason that on one of my visits I headed straight for the denim section. I'm a sucker for Topshop's Leigh jean but I think these jeans are not only better quality but they are just as good in the skinny jean stakes

For some reason I picked up W30 L32 which is was a total rookie error as I'm more of a W28 L28 these days but at the time I felt like the W30 looked less fat-chick-goes-skinny-jean. From looking more recently online I've seen that there actually is an option for W29 for any females like me who aren't a size 12 but are not yet a 10! All hail mid sizes!

Anyway, onto how they look...

pls forgive the thunder thighs and the background!!

Aside from the bunching at the knees and ankles due to excess fabric I absolutely L O V E how these jeans fit. They can go through 2 or 3 wears without going remotely baggy, a problem I have had previously with Topshop's Baxter style.. not a good look for anyone! They're very stretchy for jeans but not at all thin. The denim is thick and has front and back pockets with a button and zip to do up.
This colour is "dark indigo" but they are available in 4 shades - "black" "grey" & "worn indigo" online (click!).

However, one problem that will arise for many people is the price. These jeans retail for £49.50 which is certainly not cheap but I really, really think they are worth the money*.

Where do you stand when it comes to Jack Wills? Would you pay this much for a pair of jeans?

Love,

*If you're a student you should be able to receive 15% off in store, but check with your local store first.

Topshop Studs... My Top 5

So, these are my top 5 studded items on the Topshop website  at the moment .... well, four and a half. The earrings don't necessarily count but they are STUDS so I'll let myself keep it there ;)

Of course, I don't recommend wearing these all in one outfit as you might look a little stud crazy but I'd be partial to the earrings, the jumper and the purse all in one day! What do you think?

New clothes, shoes and kabuki brush! (lots of photos!)

This has got to be the best Saturday shopping result in a few months. Mama and I had some spare time today so we popped into town expecting it to be a standard let's-go-shopping-and-come-home-with-nothing experience.
Thankfully, it was a let's-go-shopping-and-come-home-with-lots experience!

River Island was exceptionally kind to me with a pair of pink skinny jeans and a blue/black cardi with gold buttons.

I wandered into Bank on the off chance that I'd find something in there and my mum picked up this gorgeous jumper! I picked it up in a 14 as I didn't want it to be too "fitted". It's by Blonde + Blonde (found here) and they have some lovely pieces in their collection. I'm going to order this and this next!

After receiving the Mac Prep + Prime translucent powder I thought I'd head in and see if they had a brush they recommend to use with it. I was recommended the 120 which I already have but mine has started malting so she gave me their 182 Kabuki brush which I'll review this week.

Finally, Topshop was a gem today! After ordering the Vectras in nude to my university address (grr! I'm an idiot sometimes!) I decided to go in store and spend some of my voucher on the black pair. I was going to buy the black pair anyway but now I have one pair to wear in Disneyland next weekend

Aren't they beautiful?!

Anyway, that's today's little share. I'm hoping to get hold of a tripod for my camera to do an outfit photo of what I'm wearing out to my Mum's birthday meal tomorrow (it will consist of most of the items in this post!)

Link me to any of your "Recently Bought" posts, I'd love to see.

Have a lovely Saturday!

Shoe Envy : Topshop

I have fallen in love with Topshop shoes recently! Being 5' 3" I'm a sucker for platform heels, and these shoes are perfect! The nude and black pairs are £65 and the faux snakeskin are £88 (herehere & here)
The brown moccasin pair are £62 here. They're not to my usual taste but they'd go nicely with black or blue jeans and a big (faux) fur coat!
The middle pair really caught my eye, and I don't usually like shoes with ankle straps as I have very narrow ankles and I feel like an ankle strap draws attention to them. Having said that, I'd like to try this pair. The strap combined with the green transparent heel really makes a statement and I'd definitely like to wear these!

What's caught your eye in Topshop at the moment?

love,

Christmas List 2011 ... Part One

Christmas cannot come quickly enough for me! I absolutely love the holiday season and buying presents for my better half, best friends and family is so much fun. I love choosing matching wrapping paper/ribbons and the little things that make getting presents the best.......

however, I love getting presents.. who doesn't! So I've made a little Christmas list to share with you...

So there's a little bit of Jack Wills on here (hate me if you will, I'm a sucker for the pink and navy OKAY!) but I think I might have to send this to my mumma bear and see what she says! :)

What are you after this Christmas? Let me know, there are a few gaps on my list still ;)

big love,

In October I loved....

Lipsy Coat, Clarins Daily Energizer Cream, Mac 123 Brush, Pink With A Splash by Victoria's Secret in Sweet & Flirty,
Ted Baker iPad Case, Diorskin Nude in 020, No7 Lift & Luminate in Porcelain 03, Bobbi Brown Face Blender,
HD Brows Palette in Vamp, Benefit Dallas Bronzer and my Hello Kitty hot water bottle

Since we're in the first week of November now I'm running a little late, but I wanted to do my first "things I loved" post! These are my favourite bits and pieces from October....

1. My Lipsy coat. It's so snuggly warm and paired with a scarf it keeps me covered from the cold on my walk to uni.

2. Clarins moisturiser from their Daily Energizer range. I use the face wash and the toner a couple of times a week but the moisturiser was perfect for every day before applying my make-up. It was called a cream but did have a slightly gel-like consistency. I was recommended it by the lady on the counter in my local Debenhams over the actual moisturising gel alternative because my skin isn't dry or greasy, a nice inbetween. It's quite thick and a little definitely goes a long way but it was perfect for me! The pot is sadly empty now but I'll be buying a new one asap!

3. Mac brush 123. I use this as a bronzer or blusher brush as it's smaller than my Bobbi Brown brush so I only cover the area I'm aiming for without getting it everywhere! It does malt a little though which is a pain.

4. Pink With A Splash by Victoria's Secret in Sweet & Flirty. I first bought this body mist in Miami 2010 in a smaller bottle and it lasted me almost a full year! When I went back to Florida this summer I knew I had to buy another bottle. I think it was $15 and it is DEFINITELY worth the money!

5. My beloved Ted Baker iPad case. I'm a sucker for the laquer-finish Ted Baker accessories! I have a purse that's brown leather with a black pvc strip in the middle that is my one love. This case is perfect for my iPad2 as a) it stops scratches or marks ruining the aluminium when it's in my bag and b) if I need to carry it in my hands I don't look like i'm trying to show off with it! It's discreet but very aesthetically pleasing with the small lettering and the little black bow.

6 & 7. Two foundations last month! I stopped using my Diorskin foundation before summer as I was beginning to look tangoed every day. I used to get quite worried that I looked like the love child of an oompa-loompa and a wotsit so I switched to my back-up No7 Lift & Luminate. I apply these with a Mac 190 brush by either blending them on the back of my hand or putting a small blob of each on the tip of the brush.

8. Bobbi Brown face blender brush. Perfect for brushing over my face to even out the colour or blend my bronzer and blusher so they're not as full-on. It's also handy for applying my bronzer with the very edge of the brush along my cheek bone.

9. The winning product from my September Glossybox - the HD Brows palette in Vamp. I adore this and use it every day! A little goes a long way and it's very easy to over-do my eyebrows but with a magnifying mirror and a bit of patience it usually works out okay.

10. Benefit Dallas Bronzer. I LOVE this bronzer. I used to use it all the time when I was about 16/17 and I recently found a half full pot. It's now almost empty so it's one for the Christmas list!! It's got enough shimmer to give my cheeks a "glow" and doesn't look like I've rolled round in a pot of glitter!

11. Finally, my lovely hot water bottle. My boyfriend bought me this last Christmas and since moving into my second year university house I've used it almost every night. It's always cold in this house because the gas is so expensive and none of us know how to set the heating timer properly. It stays warm till around 4am which is perfect!

So, how was this for my first "things I loved" post??
I'd love any comments you have for me and I'll reply to them all.

Kisses, xo xo
