Carex Hand Soaps - Cola Bottles & Strawberry Laces

These soaps aren't quite beauty products but I couldn't resist photographing them for my blog when I bought them a couple of months ago. I'm a sucker for anything that smells like something I can eat, especially when it's sweet.
These hand washes are scented exactly like two old favourites from the pick 'n' mix sections; cola bottles and strawberry laces. When I say exactly, I mean exactly. There isn't even a hint of soapy smell from either, they're almost edible!

Since working in a school I'm even more conscious of picking up germs and bugs from everywhere so although I wash my hands at numerous points in the day I also wash my hands as soon as I get home from work. One pump of soap is enough to create lots of bubbles with warm water and the smell tends to linger for a little while after which I love.

Sadly I've worked my way through the strawberry laces bottle which was my favourite but I love the sweet scent of the cola bottles soap every time I pop to the bathroom!

These soaps are super inexpensive priced from £1-£3 depending on the retailer. They're currently on offer at Boots.com here (click!) for just £1 each.

So...? Kiss Me

If you grew up in the 90s like I did you're probably familiar with the So...? fragrance range. For me the So...? body sprays were always in my school bag, PE bag and chucked around my bedroom alongside other drug store spritzes and sprays. At 13 years old I wasn't really heading for the Chanel counter when I went into town with my best friend and giggled at the boys who could skateboard. We would always go to Boots or Superdrug and stock up on fragrances that we could apply liberally before we went "out" (to the park....) and by liberally I mean half a can in one go kind of liberally!

So...? With Attitude don't just limit themselves to body sprays, there are perfumes too. Aimed at teenagers and youngsters their whole range of perfumes cover any occasion without having to spend a fortune on a bottle. The pictured product is the Eau de Toilette in So...? Kiss me. At £5.99* for 30ml this scent is light and fruity with hints of blackcurrant, vanilla and musk. It's not overpowering at all like some perfumes can be and is pretty long lasting. I tend to spritz around my wrists, neck and near the back of my ears (normal or not?) which gives my hair a slight scent so if I feel like swishing my locks around they leave some fruity smells in my wake!

You can also pair this Eau de Toilette with the body spray of the same name for a longer lasting scent. I think this is a great idea because you won't work through the Eau de Toilette too quickly if you can use the body fragrance over your torso and then one or two sprays of the Eau de Toilette to make the scent more concentrated over your pulse points.

You can pick both of these products up at a number of retailers : Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Bodycare, Wilkinsons and Savers (phew!) for an RRP of £5.99* (30ml) / £9.99 (50ml) for the Eau de Toilette and £1.95 (75ml) for the Body Fragrance.

Overall I really like these fragrances even though they're aimed at a slightly younger target audience than myself. I wouldn't buy them as gifts for people my age but I would definitely buy them for my younger cousins and of course I'd recommend them to my brother to buy for any of his "girlfriends"! I think they're perfect for anyone attending school too as they fit perfectly in a make-up or washbag for after a PE lesson.

So...? With Attitude have a Facebook page here (click!), a Twitter page here (click!) and of course their own website where you can browse their entire selection for yourself - sowithattitude.com (click!)

Quick & easy back to school rescue kit

So, back to school is rapidly approaching. I have recently attained an assistant position in an upper school so this evening I began to get prepared for my first inset day on Monday.
I can remember exactly what going back to school felt like throughout all my school years and my university degree so I thought I'd put together a little rescue kit for those days where everything is going wrong and you just need a little cuddle!

I have included : pain medication, hayfever / allergy tablets, a nail file, clear nail polish, intense lip balm, mouth irritation gel, anti-bacterial hand gel, intense moisturiser, a hair clip, 2 hair bands, bobby pins, eye drops, chapstick a piece of gum and a little perfume dispenser filled with one of my body sprays.

You could include absolutely anything from tampons, toothpaste, a toothbrush, cuticle oil, your favourite nail polish shade, mini mascara, earrings, cotton buds, spot treatment, concealer, cuticle trimmer, cough sweets, tweezers..... the list is endless!!

Do you have any essentials you will be taking when you head back to the classroom? Let me know, there's room in my handbag for more!
