Sampar Prodigal Pen

Pioneer of urban skin care, SAMPAR has an ambition: to awaken the sleeping beauty in everywoman, uncovering and revealing her natural allure.

I received this pen last week and at first I was pretty apprehensive. I'm used to your average tea tree stick or under-eye roller ball but this seems to combine the soothing effects of a cool, metal rollerball with a soothing & calming mix of essential oils. It comes in a super cute pale pink glass tube with a screw top and a little rollerball dispenser. It's mess free and robust even though it's so tiny and made of glass so you don't need to be too delicate with it.

It contains cinnamon, lavender, rosemary, thyme, cloves, oregano and sage oils which aim to eliminate blemishes without leaving an unsightly mark behind. I've applied this to different areas of my face and it doesn't leave any residue behind like a cream or gel can. Of course there's a product deposit on the skin but it's just a little dab of oil and it's absorbed or dries naturally on the skin.

I'm not sure whether it's obvious or not but I have swiped it across my hand in this photo - at least you can see that it doesn't leave any greasiness behind!

I must've received this on the one week of my whole life where I don't have a spot! I think the summer sunshine has helped clear my skin but thankfully this pen doesn't aim to just fight blemishes.

It's calming and soothing on the skin which is especially useful during this time of year since the summer holidays are when we're most likely to be hopping on planes going off into the sunshine. With crying babies and seat backs being kicked or lowered this is definitely something I'd need to keep in my hand luggage! I apply this across my forehead or on my temples when I feel a tension headache coming on and although it doesn't prevent the headache entirely, it does make me take a deep breath in (partly because I love the smell!) and process whatever is stressing me out at that moment.
It also helps alleviate irritations such as bites, rashes and ingrown hairs (magical, just magical!!) to make sure nothing can ruin a day in the sunshine whether you're staying in the UK or going abroad.

The SAMPAR mission is to reset the skin’s
intelligent response system and to support its natural healing actions.
Enriched with the Urban Advance Complex, the innovative formulations act
at the heart of cells to “wake-up” and reactivate the skin’s vital
functions, helping to recover a state of equilibrium.

I really like this statement by Sampar - it sounds like they know exactly what they're talking about when it comes to women's fickle skincare issues and demands and I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a blemish fighting product that isn't aimed at teenage skin.

You can buy your own Sampar Prodigal pen for an RRP of £18.00* for 6ml from the Sampar website here (click!), FeelUnique.com here (click!) or from M&S beauty here (click!). FYI on the M&S website you can't buy the product on its own, it's included in a set.

This is the kind of brand and product that I really like. Maybe because I like the Frenchness of it all - fuss free and to the point. I'm really looking forward to trying more products by Sampar - their Glamourous Kit sounds right up my street!
* I received this product for review purposes and as always have reviewed this honestly.
