Topshop's coveted make-up line has rarely disappointed me. I own a number of lipsticks and nail polishes (all varying shades of pink, of course) from their range over the last couple of years. I've seen swatches of this shade, "Coy", around the internet and desperately needed to buy it for myself when I was in the middle of my dissertation.
As a very, very peachy, nude pink, Coy is a much better choice than "foundation lips" that some ladies still seem to be sporting. Myspace called and they want that beauty faux-pas back. Pop to Topshop instead and part with £7.00 for your go-to pale lips.
As you can see, Coy has a very, very drying formula. It's totally matte and on some lips this will not be forgiving! I've had to smother my lips in balm in preparation for this lip colour, and even then they still look chapped!
However, a sweep of balm after application it does leave a smoother finish, if a little bit "smudgy". With balm on top this formula seems to slide round my lips a little if I'm not careful.
When wearing this colour I've paired it with a simple cat-eye, lashings of volumising mascara on my top lashes and a peachy blusher. The lasting time really does vary, with a balm on top it's much shorter than without but honestly, I think it only lasted for a couple of hours...but then I have a weird habit of pursing my lips, especially when there's colour on them... (don't ask, I don't know the answer either!)
As I said, this lip crayon retails for £7.00 in Topshop stores and online. If, like me, you're a student then you could receive a student discount as well making the price even less of a worry.
Next on my list of "pink stuff I need" is the crayon in the shade "Powder Room" found here. It's a perfect summer pink!
